The overall pass percentage this year is 94.03 per cent which is a minor increase from the previous year’s 93.76 per cent. The girls have outshone boys scoring 96.38 per cent while boys got 91.45 per cent. A total of 326 schools have recorded 100 per cent pass percentage.
This year, nearly 8.51 lakh students registered for the HSC exam. Of these, nearly 5.36 lakh students were from Science stream, 2.54 lakh students from Commerce stream and about 14,000 students were from Arts stream. As per the data, 7,55,451 students have cleared the plus two exam. Girls have outperformed boys by scoring 96.38 per cent as the overall pass percentage, as compared to 91.45 per cent of boys. Also, this year, one transgender student from Namakkal district registered and appeared for TN Plus two exams and cleared the exams.
Virudhu Nagarpass has emerged as the best performing district with 97.85 per cent, followed by Tirupur at 97.79 per cent, Ariyalur at 97.59 per cent, Coimbtore at 97.57 per cent and Tuticorin at 97.36 per cent.
