Students of IMC&MT, KUK witnessed Printing procedures at University’s Printing Press

With a purpose to observe process behind Printing students reached Printing Press of the Kurukshetra University. The tour was arranged under academic curriculum of BA. and BSc. Final year students.

 

Kurukshetra 09 April 2023: The students of the Institute of Mass Communication and Media Technology, Kurukshetra University on Friday, had a visit to University’s Printing Press. With a purpose to observe process behind Printing students reached Printing Press of the Kurukshetra University. The tour was leading by Asst. Prof. (Dr.) Abhinav Kataria.

During the visit students were introduced with printing mechanisms and machines used in Printing Press. The University’s Printing Press Supervisor Mr. Rameshwar Saini by giving brief details of the Printing processes informed students about various kinds of Printing techniques. Meanwhile, He also gave insights of career opportunities in the Printing Industry.  He told students that ‘After automobile industry - Printing field has more career opportunities’. Mr. Rameshwar Saini also during this visit presented students with the Letterpress and Offset techniques used in Printing.

Moreover, Dr. Monindra Mudgal (Manager, University’s Printing Press) on the moment emphasized on the importance and need of the printing industry. Considering printing the agent of development he made students to realize the economic value of printing and packaging industry. He said that ‘Without Printing and Packaging industry the market can’t survive.

Throughout the tour several things emerged infront of media students. Dr. Abhinav on the occasion pointing to the importance of academic tour said that 'such visits are important, it not only provide media students an opportunity to cover events but also to learn significant concepts.'

Meanwhile, The Director of IMC&MT, KUK Prof. (Dr.) Bindu Sharma also praised the efforts made by students to learn something new and practical. She said that ‘For the overall development of media students, arranging an academic tour is important. Taking the IMC&MT department on account she also added that ‘our department always strives to teach students more with practical approach.’

Lastly, media students of IMC&MT felt overwhelmed with the experience and expresses their gratitde towards Prof. (Dr.) Bindu Sharma (Director, IMC&MT) and the deparment for arranging the tour to University's Printing Press.
