Sonipat - The National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM-K) has released a detailed recruitment notification for the post of Professor (01 post – SC backlog) on a regular basis in the Department of Food Science and Technology. The advertisement was issued on 9 February 2026, and applications are invited from eligible Indian nationals with strong academic and research credentials.
As per the notification, the post carries an Academic Pay Level-14 salary ranging from ₹1,44,200 to ₹2,18,200 under the 7th Central Pay Commission. The qualifications and experience required for the post will be governed by the UGC Regulations on Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges, 2018, as amended from time to time.
Candidates must possess a PhD degree in relevant disciplines such as Food Science, Food Technology, Food Processing, Process and Food Engineering, or allied basic sciences related to Food Science and Technology. Eligibility is defined under two broad categories:
Eminent scholars with a PhD, high-quality publications, a minimum of 10 research publications, a total research score of 120, and at least 10 years of teaching and/or research experience at the university or national-level institutions; or
Outstanding professionals from academia or industry with a PhD and 10 years of professional experience, supported by documentary evidence of significant contributions to the discipline.
Desirable qualifications include experience in new product development, pilot plant handling and management, introduction of new courses and research programmes, and involvement in industrial R&D projects, patents, and technology commercialization.
The institute has clarified that shortlisting for interview will be based on academic score, while final selection will depend solely on interview performance. Shortlisted candidates will be called for interviews in a 1:10 ratio, wherever applicable.
