Prayoga Institute of Education Research Receives Nexus of Good Award for School Level Scientific Research

The Prayoga Institute of Education Research has been honoured with the Nexus of Good Award 2025 for its Anveshana program, India’s first school level science research initiative for students in Grades 9 to 12.

The Prayoga Institute of Education Research in Bengaluru has been recognised with the Nexus of Good Award 2025 for its pioneering Anveshana program, a fully funded school level scientific research initiative designed for students from Grades 9 to 12. The award was presented at PHDCCI in New Delhi, acknowledging Prayoga’s efforts to cultivate scientific curiosity and hands on research skills among high school students.

Anveshana is India’s first structured science research program at the school level, providing students the opportunity to undertake independent research guided by expert mentors. The program spans key scientific domains including Green Chemistry, Advanced Materials, Earth Sciences and Agricultural Sciences. It has enabled students from varied socio economic backgrounds, including first generation learners from rural and tribal communities, to publish their research in Scopus indexed journals such as Elsevier and in journals linked to globally recognised institutions including Harvard and Oxford Universities.

Representing Prayoga at the award ceremony were Shri B. R. Nagaraj, Trustee, Shri Praveen Subramanyam, Trustee, and Dr. Venkata Krishna Bayineni, Senior Researcher Biotechnology. The awardees were chosen through a rigorous evaluation process by a Jury chaired by Mr Deepak Gupta, former Chairman of UPSC.

Prayoga officials expressed that Anveshana reflects the organisation’s belief in inquiry based learning and its mission to bridge the gap between classroom teaching and real world scientific exploration. According to Mr Vallish Herur, Managing Trustee, the program nurtures curiosity and confidence by helping students navigate open ended scientific problems. Dr K. S. Nagabhushana, Director Research, highlighted that many participating students, including a significant number of girls from rural regions, have already published their research in international peer reviewed journals.

The Nexus of Good Awards honour impactful initiatives across governance, education, environment, agriculture and STEM. The recognition further strengthens Prayoga’s commitment to ensuring that every child has access to high quality scientific learning opportunities driven by curiosity, experimentation and innovation.
