Placement drive conducted for media students at KU

Amar Ujala conducted placement drive in the Institute of Mass communication and Media Technology, Kurukshetra University. The team from Karnal arrived on this occasion also guided students with the way to make career and excel in Media industry.

Kurukshetra, 14 April 2023: The Amar Ujala team arrived at KU campus on Tuesday to conduct Placement drive in the Institute of Mass Communication and Media Technology. With the purpose to provide opportunity to work in Amar Ujala , the team invigilated students by an prior interview examination.

The coordinator of the drive Prof. Dr. Tapesh Kiran on this occasion welcomed Amar Ujala  team. Considering  an great initiative, Dr. Tapesh also praised  Amar Ujala team to bring out  such an substantial opportunity for students.

Subsequently then, the examination was conducted by the institute faculty and around 50 students were become part of this examination. At this moment they were also encouraged by teachers and members of Amar Ujala. Teachers along with team were found happy to see sincerity among students towards examination.

One of the faculty member, Dr. Abhinav Kataria on this occasion expressed faith over his students. He said that, ‘they were very determined throughout the exam and I believe that all 50 students will get selected’. Along with Dr. Abhinav, Dr. Pradeep Rai while talking to EduAdvice.in also made an remark that ‘The examination brought up several things infront of students, they will definitely called upon for job interview.’

After examination held successfully, a session was arranged for students in which Dr. Tapesh Kiran invited members of Amar Ujala to enlighten students.

Following up, The Editor of Amar Ujala Mr. Mohit Dhaupad at first interacted with students. He informed students about the challenges faced by a journalist and said that, ‘Journalism alike other fields have a lot struggle, this field  expects “Josh, Jajba aur Junoon”  throughout the Journey. A Journalist who is fearless, bold and most importantly have strong hold over language can survive over difficulties – otherwise in absence of these features it is very hard for a journalist to play his/her role properly.' While on other side, he also emphasized on having general awareness and also made students to roll out from their comfort zones in order to become a well disciplined journalist.

Furthermore, Mr. Vinod Kumar (Desk Incharge) came upon stage. He manifested his experience to students on having mental strains while compiling a report. He expressed that ‘one need to be mentally prepared before covering an event’. 'A Journalist between hustle should not lost its patience. I always try to keep my mind cool and stable while compiling a story as ‘today journalism demand more patience and efficiency, I keep myself prepared and even suggest others to stay active’.

On this, Mr. Seva Singh (Bureau Chief, Amar Ujala Kurukshetra) and other team members nodded it as true and also guided media students also with their experiences.

Lastly, the placement drive ended on a good note. The students felt overwhelmed to have guidance from the team. Students showed gratitude towards the Ujala’s members at last and faculty members thanked team to conduct drive in institute at the end of the occasion.
