New Delhi: Delhi University (DU) has released the results of the CSAS UG 2025 Spot Round, allotting 7,908 seats from nearly 30,000 applications received, as the prestigious institution moves into the final phases of its undergraduate admission cycle for 2025–26.

Spot Round Figures

According to official data, 29,819 applicants registered for the Spot Round, of which 7,908 have secured seats. The round offered opportunities to candidates who either missed earlier cut-offs or were seeking an upgrade in course or college.

Progress in Previous Rounds

By the close of the third round, DU had already finalised 67,582 admissions, with more than 68,000 students accepting offers in Round 2 alone. In that cycle, 7,685 candidates were also promoted to new courses or colleges, reflecting the constant churn within the Centralised Seat Allocation System (CSAS).

Admissions so far include both general merit candidates and those selected under special categories such as Extracurricular Activities (ECA), Sports, and Children of War Widows (CW).

Supernumerary Seats

For 2025–26, DU has also added 6,079 supernumerary seats across the ECA, Sports, and CW categories, broadening representation in cultural and sporting domains and ensuring inclusivity beyond the standard merit lists.

Narrowing Window for Admissions

With the Spot Round underway, DU admissions are entering their final stretch. Officials have indicated that additional lists or cut-off adjustments may still be released, but the window for securing fresh admissions is rapidly closing.

Students are advised to monitor the official admission portal closely for updates.

Competitive Landscape

The figures highlight DU’s enduring status as one of India’s most competitive higher education destinations, where nearly one lakh aspirants compete for a limited number of seats each year.

For 7,908 students, the Spot Round has brought welcome relief, but for many others, the uncertainty continues as the university edges closer to concluding its admission cycle.
