Ashoka University to Host Computer Science Seminar on AI Driven EdTech

Ashoka University will host an online Computer Science Seminar titled “Who learns when the machines teach? A story of ‘cutting-edge’ edtech in schools around the world” on 9 February 2026. The seminar will be delivered by education technology researcher and entrepreneur Dr. Aditya Vishwanath and will examine the impact of AI and immersive technologies on global school education systems.

Sonipat - Ashoka University will host an online Computer Science Seminar titled “Who learns when the machines teach? A story of ‘cutting-edge’ edtech in schools around the world” on 9 February 2026. The seminar will be delivered by education technology researcher and entrepreneur Dr. Aditya Vishwanath and will examine the impact of AI and immersive technologies on global school education systems.

Ashoka University is set to organize an online Computer Science Seminar on 9 February 2026, focusing on the growing role of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies in education. The seminar, scheduled from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm, will be conducted in virtual mode and is open to students, researchers, and faculty members interested in education technology and learning sciences.

The seminar, titled “Who learns when the machines teach? A story of ‘cutting-edge’ edtech in schools around the world”, will be delivered by Aditya Vishwanath, an education technology researcher and entrepreneur known for his work at the intersection of AI, learning, and social impact. His talk will explore how so-called cutting-edge educational technologies are being deployed in schools globally, and who actually benefits from these innovations.

Dr. Vishwanath is the co-founder and CEO of Inspirit, a venture-backed startup that builds immersive, AI-enabled virtual reality tools for K–12 and vocational education. He is also a co-founder of MakerGhat, one of India’s largest makerspace networks, which has enabled hands-on learning for millions of students across several Indian states. His academic background includes a PhD in Learning Sciences from Stanford University, where he is currently a Visiting Research Scholar at the Graduate School of Education.

The seminar will critically examine questions of access, equity, and learning outcomes in the adoption of AI-powered educational tools, with a special focus on public schools and underserved communities. Participants will gain insights into how emerging technologies such as AI and extended reality (XR) are influencing pedagogy, student engagement, and youth agency.
