NTA Clarifies: Aadhaar, Document Updates Not Linked to JEE (Main) Centre Allotment

Advises candidates to rely only on official NTA website for accurate information on JEE (Main) – 2026 and other examinations

New Delhi, October 10: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a clarification regarding the recent public notice about updating Aadhaar and other identity documents, stating that it has no connection with the city or centre allotment process for JEE (Main) or any other NTA-conducted examinations.

According to the Director, NTA, the JEE (Main) – 2026 will be held in two sessions—January and April 2026. The advisory issued on 29 September 2025 was aimed at helping candidates avoid mismatches in personal details while filling out application forms, as such discrepancies had caused issues in previous years.

The Agency emphasized that the notice was purely to ensure smooth application processes and not related to examination centre allotment. Candidates and parents have been urged not to rely on unverified social media posts or unofficial sources for exam-related updates.

For accurate information regarding JEE (Main) and other NTA examinations, candidates should visit the official website: www.nta.ac.in.
