New Delhi. ; The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has cancelled the NEET Postgraduate (PG) results of 22 candidates over allegations of misconduct and on the basis of a court directive. The board also announced that the scorecards of these candidates from previous years will be deemed invalid for any academic or professional use.
Action Taken for Malpractice and Court Order
According to an official NBEMS notification, 21 candidates were found guilty of using unfair means during the NEET PG examination, while one candidate’s result was cancelled following an order from the Karnataka High Court.
The board clarified that the candidature and results of 13 candidates from NEET PG 2025 have been revoked, while the remaining nine candidates belonged to earlier examination years — 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024.
NBEMS Emphasizes Fairness and Exam Ethics
The decision was taken based on the findings of the NBEMS Examination Ethics Committee, which confirmed that multiple candidates had resorted to unfair practices during the exam process.
NBEMS stated that all affected candidates’ results and previous scorecards are now permanently invalid and cannot be used for admission, employment, or any educational purpose.
“This action reinforces the board’s commitment to maintaining the transparency, credibility, and integrity of national-level medical examinations,” the NBEMS noted in its statement.
NEET PG Counselling 2025 Expected in Mid-October
While addressing the issue, the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) announced via a post on X (formerly Twitter) that the NEET PG 2025 counselling process is expected to commence in the third week of October 2025.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has reportedly finalized the timeline after consultations with stakeholders. The counselling will allocate seats to eligible candidates in medical colleges and universities across the country.
