New Delhi: Around 300 students from New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) schools were introduced to artificial intelligence, machine learning, and virtual reality during a three-day workshop titled ‘Aces of AI’, conducted by Homi Lab, billed as India’s first Future-Skills Lab.
Targeted at Classes 9 to 12, the initiative trained students in the use of 15 AI tools and VR gadgets, enabling them to create digital stories, comics, books, paintings, and even song lyrics. An exhibition at Navyug School, Sarojini Nagar showcased their projects, blending creativity with technology.
NDMC Director of Education Kritika Chaudhary said the pilot project was carefully designed, with principals from 42 council schools nominating motivated students. She stressed that the programme aimed to prepare learners, especially from economically weaker backgrounds, for future opportunities and job readiness.
NDMC Vice Chairperson Kuljeet Singh Chahal lauded the effort, noting that participants received over 6,000 hours of collective training. He highlighted that the programme went beyond generative AI to cover machine learning and VR, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and contributing to the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
With positive feedback from both students and organisers, the Aces of AI workshop is expected to pave the way for more such initiatives that merge experiential learning with digital literacy.
