AMU Research Scholar Presents Paper at International Conference in Dubai

A research scholar from Aligarh Muslim University represented the institution at an international conference in Dubai, where he presented a research paper focusing on financial literacy and fraud detection in the digital era.

Aligarh - Mohd Khalid, a research scholar in the Department of Business Administration at Aligarh Muslim University, presented a research paper at an international conference on financial literacy and fraud detection held at the University of Wollongong in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Working under the supervision of Javaid Akhter, Mohd Khalid’s presentation examined the growing importance of financial literacy in addressing the challenges posed by rising financial fraud, particularly in an age marked by rapid digitalisation of financial services. He discussed how the increasing use of artificial intelligence and social engineering techniques has transformed the nature of financial fraud, making informed decision-making more complex for individuals.

He further emphasised that financial literacy has become a critical capability for understanding financial products, identifying deceptive practices, and managing evolving financial risks in the digital age. His research underlined the need for awareness and education to safeguard individuals and institutions from sophisticated fraud mechanisms.

In addition to presenting his paper, Mohd Khalid also chaired a conference track titled “International Finance, Accounting, and Corporate Governance”, where he moderated academic sessions and facilitated discussions among scholars from various countries, contributing to meaningful global academic exchange.
