Mizoram University Announces International Seminar on Psychosocial Issues for April 2026

The Department of Psychology at Mizoram University has announced an International Seminar on Contemporary Psychosocial Issues: Integrating Research and Practice, scheduled for April 16-17, 2026. This prestigious event invites academicians, researchers, and students to explore complex psychosocial challenges through an interdisciplinary lens.

Aizawl, Mizoram, Mizoram University, a premier Central University recently accredited with an A+ Grade by NAAC (2025), is preparing to host a significant academic gathering. The International Seminar on Contemporary Psychosocial Issues: Integrating Research and Practice aims to address the persistent gap between empirical knowledge and its practical application in a rapidly changing global landscape.

Addressing Modern Challenges

The seminar is conceived as a platform to examine how social, technological, and environmental transformations influence human behavior and mental well-being. By bringing together experts from India and abroad, the Department of Psychology hopes to develop culturally sensitive and contextually relevant responses to increasing levels of emotional distress and mental health concerns.

Participants are encouraged to submit original research papers across 12 diverse sub-themes:

  • Mental Health & Social Change: Including gender, sexuality, and youth education.

  • Modern Stressors: Technology, media, socio-political, and environmental factors.

  • Specialized Interventions: Neurodevelopmental disorders, workplace well-being, and positive psychology.

  • Cultural Perspectives: Cross-cultural psychology and substance use behaviors.

  • Abstract Submission: February 28, 2026.

  • Acceptance Notification: March 6, 2026.

  • Full Paper Submission: March 20, 2026.

  • Registration Deadline: March 31, 2026.

Organizing Leadership
