Kurukshetra, March 23, 2023, :       On Wednesday, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, has issued a notification regarding holiday on Saheedi Diwas. The university on preparation of NAAC DVV report (stands for Data Validation and Verification report), has decided to not mark this Saheedi Diwas as holiday but a full working day. It is decided that except teaching work, entire clerical and manageable duties will be executable as normal day with full working force. However, this day will be marked as holiday for students.

The saheedi Diwas is celebrated every year on March 23 in order to remember the sacrifices made by three freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar, and Shivaram Rajguru. According to university’s  academic calendar, it is a holiday, but due to the data verification process to check validity of data submitted on the portal during the NAAC accreditation process by the university; amidst pressure the head officials of the university decided to remain campus open.

This is the first time from commencement of university that on the occasion of Saheedi Diwas, KU offices open and are flooded with professionals. Additionally, there is no change in working hours and no leisure has given to any staff member. However, leaves were given to the staff whom with prior sanctions.
