Kerala SSLC 2026 Exams to Begin on March 5; Results Expected by May 8

Kerala Education Minister V Sivankutty announced the SSLC 2026 board exams will be held from March 5 to March 30, with results likely by May 8. Over 4.25 lakh students will appear for the exams across 3,000 centres.

Thiruvananthapuram : The Kerala government has announced the schedule for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) and Higher Secondary examinations for the 2025–26 academic year, giving students ample time to prepare.

Education Minister V. Sivankutty said that the Kerala SSLC 2026 exams will begin on March 5 and continue till March 30, with results expected on May 8, 2026. Around 4.25 lakh students will appear for the Class 10 board examinations this year.

Kerala SSLC 2026 Exam Schedule

The SSLC examinations will be conducted across 3,000 centres, including seven in Gulf countries and nine in Lakshadweep, ensuring accessibility for students outside the state.

Exam Dates: March 5 to March 30, 2026

Evaluation: April 7 to April 25, 2026

Result Date (Tentative): May 8, 2026

In the previous academic session (2025), Kerala recorded a 99.5% pass rate in the SSLC exams. Kannur district topped the list with 99.87%, while Thiruvananthapuram had the lowest at 98.59%. Out of 4,27,021 students, 4,24,583 passed, and 61,449 secured A+ grades in all subjects. Moreover, 2,331 schools achieved 100% results, reflecting the state’s strong academic standards.

Plus One, Plus Two, and Vocational Exam Dates 2026

The Higher Secondary (Plus One and Plus Two) and Vocational Higher Secondary examinations will also be held in March 2026, ensuring uniformity in the academic calendar.

  • Plus One (First Year): March 5 to March 27, 2026
  • Plus Two (Second Year): March 6 to March 28, 2026
  • Evaluation Period: Begins April 6, 2026

Passing Criteria

Students must obtain at least 33% marks in each subject and overall to qualify in the SSLC, Plus One, and Plus Two board examinations.

Minister Sivankutty noted that announcing the schedule early will help students plan their studies strategically and reduce exam stress. Kerala’s education system, known for its high literacy and exceptional pass percentages, continues to uphold its record of excellence.

The Kerala Board of Public Examinations (KBPE) aims to ensure transparent evaluation and timely declaration of results, reinforcing its commitment to maintaining quality and efficiency in the state’s public education system.
