The Department of Electrical Engineering, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) in association with IEEE Delhi Section organised a three-day International Conference on Recent Advances in Electrical, Electronics & Digital Healthcare Technologies -REEDCON 2023 in hybrid mode from 1st -3rd May, 2023. A total of 138 authors from 16 countries presented their research papers during 23 sessions in the three-day conference.
Prof. Sujoy Kumar Guha (Padma Shri) was the Chief Guest of the Inaugural Session which was graced by esteemed dignitaries from academia and industry. Shri Saurabh Dalela, Director, ICAT, Manesar and Commodore Sanjeev Deureja (Retd.), Indian Navy were the Guests of Honours of the session. Prof. D. P. Kothari presided over the function.
Conference Organizing Chair, Prof. Munna Khan extended a warm welcome to all the participants. He thanked JMI Vice Chancellor Prof. Najma Akhtar (Padma Shri) for extending invaluable support in organising the conference.
The Chief Guest, Prof. Sujoy Kumar Guha who was also the keynote speaker addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of innovation and collaboration in driving advancements in Electrical, Electronics & Digital Healthcare Technologies. He delivered an inspiring keynote address on Walk through Surgery.
Shri Saurabh Dalela appreciated the efforts put in by the organizing committee in bringing together leading experts from academia and industry on a common platform to share their research findings and practical experiences.
Commodore Sanjeev Deureja (Retd.) appreciated the conference theme and the broad range of tracks, which provided a unique opportunity for participants to exchange their ideas and collaborate on cutting-edge research.
The Organizing Secretary of the Conference Prof. Majid Jamil briefed about the REEDCON 2023 and said that a series of REEDCON conferences will be organised in near future. He informed that the conference has received over 250 research papers from 16 countries, out of which 143 papers were accepted. The Conference had 5 tracks with 23 sessions. Co- Patron Prof. Mini Shaji Thomas who is also the Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Technology, JMI appreciated efforts of all the members of the organizing team and welcomed all guests at JMI. The Inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Anwar Shahzad Siddiqui, Technical Program Chair of the conference.
In the Valedictory function, Organizing Secretary Prof. Majid Jamil informed that 138 authors from 16 countries presented their research papers during 23 sessions in the three-day conference. Organizing Chair Prof. Munna Khan highlighted the achievements of the Department of Electrical Engineering and informed that this conference is the 1st in the series of REEDCON which will continue in the future. Co-Patron of the conference Prof. Mini Shaji Thomas congratulated the organizing team for the grand success of the International Conference.
The valedictory session was graced by esteemed Chief Guest Air Marshal L K Verma, AVSM, PHS (Ex. DGMS Air, Indian Air Force). He emphasized on the values of human factor engineering in the coming future. He also highlighted the use of telemedicine in civil and defence sectors.
The session was presided over by Prof. Moinuddin, Former Director, NIT, Jalandhar. He praised the organizing committee for their efforts in bringing together the best minds from the industry and academia to share their knowledge and experience.
The session ended with a formal vote of thanks by Prof. Anwar Shahzad Siddiqui, Technical Program Chair of the conference who expressed gratitude to all the attendees, speakers, sponsors, and supporters for their valuable contributions to the success of the conference.
