New Delhi. : Yaseen Ammar, a 22-year-old software engineer, an alumnus of Jamia Millia Islamia(JMI), and founder of a fintech Startup Sopay, which aims to link Crypto with UPI incubated in JMI E-Cell. He has written 'The Salted', an encrypted book in morse code, a communication medium consisting of dash and dots Introduced in 1838. Morse code is named after Samuel Morse, one of the inventors of the telegraph.

How Yaseen raised 3 Crore INR (~360k USD) money is quite interesting. He wrote the book, convinced his friends and clients to invest, printed 300 books and stopped. Later, he received a call from an angel investor that he loved The Salted book and wants to invest. The investor got to know about the book from the guy who owns the print house and he was using The Salted as his work sample as it was his best work yet.

The Salted is accommodated in libraries of the world's most prestigious universities like Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, Oxford University, Cornell University, University of Alexandria, JMI, and IIT Delhi.

Yaseen composed The Salted in 2020 during the pandemic, while playing with stuff, his love for cryptography made him write a book in morse code. “Oh come on, it’s not just a book, it’s an art.” says Yaseen.

Yaseen wants to leverage the ability of blockchain in the community of readers and writers. He is developing a platform merging a metaverse library, a publishing house and a digital archive. This will help writers and readers to monetise their work easier than ever. People don’t have to care about theft and plagiarism ever again. Nothing could be destroyed or tampered with.
