Aspiring candidates now have until March 7, 2026, to submit their applications for the 390 available government positions. This recruitment drive, which initially set a deadline of February 25, 2026, has provided a critical ten-day window for those who have not yet finalized their submissions to secure their candidacy.

The 390 vacancies are distributed across six major government departments, offering a diverse array of roles that cater to varied educational backgrounds. The Jal Shakti department leads the intake with 121 positions, primarily for Works Supervisors, followed by the Agriculture Production department with 88 positions for Stock Assistants. The Industries and Commerce department is hiring for 87 roles, including Assistant Handicrafts and Handloom Training Officers, while the Transport department has 40 vacancies for positions such as Motor Vehicle Inspectors, Traffic Assistants, and Mechanics. Additionally, the Social Welfare department is recruiting 36 Supervisors, and the Cooperative department is offering 18 positions for Junior Supervisors and Sub Auditors.

Eligibility requirements for these roles vary according to the specific position and department. Candidates seeking roles such as Stock Assistant or Motor Vehicle Traffic Assistant generally require a Matriculation certificate, with specific trade-related ITI certifications for technical roles. Higher-level positions, such as Supervisor in Social Welfare, require candidates to be female graduates, ideally with a background in Home Science, Child Development, or Sociology. For specialized roles like the Motor Vehicle Inspector, applicants must possess a degree or diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering, along with a valid driving license. The age limit is set with consideration for different categories, extending up to 40 years for Open Merit candidates and reaching up to 48 years for Ex-Servicemen.

The compensation packages follow the 7th Pay Commission structure, categorized by pay levels. High-tier roles like the Motor Vehicle Inspector and Fisheries Development Assistant fall under Pay Level-6 and its variants, offering a salary range of ₹35,400 to ₹1,13,500. Other roles are distributed across Pay Level-4, Pay Level-2, and Pay Level SL-1, ensuring competitive remuneration that includes Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, and other government-mandated benefits.

The selection process is designed to be merit-based and straightforward, consisting of an objective, OMR-based written examination containingmultiple-choice questionss. Candidates should note that the marking scheme includes a penalty of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer. Following the written examination, successful candidates will undergo document verification. It is important to note that there will be no interview stage for these non-gazetted posts. Interested applicants must complete their registration and application through the official JKSSB website, paying an application fee of ₹600 for General/Open Merit candidates and ₹500 for reserved categories.
