Jammu, : The Jammu and Kashmir government has announced a festive break for schools across the Jammu division. All government and recognised private schools up to the higher secondary level will remain closed from October 19 to November 2, 2025, on account of Pooja holidays.
The official order, issued by Manisha, Personal Officer at the Directorate of School Education, Jammu, directs all educational institutions to observe the scheduled break. The move comes as part of the annual festive calendar to allow students and teachers to celebrate the upcoming festivals with their families.
Earlier this month, schools in several parts of Jammu were closed temporarily on October 6 and 7 due to heavy rainfall. Authorities clarified that those closures were weather-related and not linked to Valmiki Jayanti.
