'Jal Sangrakshak Jodo’ Campaign Launched

:- Dr. Rajendra Singh inspired the University and the administration to work together for the water literacy campaign :- The Deputy Commissioner of Mahendragarh called for Selfie with Talaiya

 

Haryana: With the joint efforts of Indian Himalayan River Basin Council, Tarun Bharat Sangh, District Administration Mahendragarh and IITTM, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India under Mission Mahendragarh: Apna Jal, Swachh Bharat Mission, Mahendragarh, ‘Jal Sangrakshak Jodo Abhiyan’ started at Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh on Saturday. 

Jal Purush and Magsaysay Awardee Dr. Rajendra Singh called upon the representatives of the local villages, the officials of schools and colleges and the teachers, students and employees of the University and said that if Mahendergarh has to increase its water level, then we have to make necessary efforts on our own land.  On this occasion, Jal Purush, while mentioning the Sanatan solution, stressed on adopting the process of everlasting, new, eternal creation and said that through this we can find a solution to this problem. District Deputy Commissioner Dr. J.K. Abhir assured all possible support to the ongoing efforts in this direction by the administration and called for collective participation. The District Deputy Commissioner also called for Selfie with Talaiya of the youth.

The two-day National Water Convention, organized on the occasion of the beginning of the water conservation campaign was organized in Professor Moolchand Auditorium of the University.

Highlighting the importance of water conservation, Prof. Sunil Kumar, Registrar said that if we do not make collective efforts to conserve water, then in future the problem of water will become critical. He called upon everyone to cooperate in the water conservation campaign and said that the time has come to take a pledge to conserve water. He said that today's effort will definitely play a decisive role in achieving this goal and I am sure that under the guidance and direction of Dr. Rajendra Singh, Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, District Deputy Commissioner Dr. J.K. Abhir, we will be able to complete this work very well. Dr. J.K. Abhir, Deputy Commissioner, Mahendergarh started his address with Mission Mahendragarh: Apna Jal, which started in Mahendergarh district from June 1, 2022. While presenting the introduction of the campaign, he appealed to the youth for active cooperation for water conservation while highlighting the ground water situation in the area. He said that when I take a vow, I fulfill it and for this I believe in moving forward with local cooperation. Talking about the ongoing efforts in this direction since 2017, the Deputy Commissioner called for making efforts in the direction of rain water harvesting and waste water harvesting by preparing Selfie with ponds and pits and said that we will easily achieve this goal with mutual cooperation. On this occasion, he also mentioned the interrelationship between Swachh Bharat Mission, Mahendragarh, planting trees and water conservation.

Jal Purush Dr. Rajendra Singh, the chief guest of the program, said that for the success of this campaign, it is more important that the mind of the society is connected with water than technology and engineering skills. He said that it takes time to change the geography and collective effort have to be made by organizing the society.

On this occasion, he inspired the University and district administration to start water literacy campaign together. The District Deputy Commissioner and the first lady of the University, Prof. Sunita Srivastava accepted it on the spot.

Dr. Jyoti Abhir while drawing attention to the ongoing efforts in this direction at the ground level said that all the participants involved in this campaign for water conservation should propagate it at the local level. At the end of the program, Ramesh Sharma presented a song and Ram Niwas Yadav told the importance of water conservation.

On this occasion teachers, officers, students and researchers of the University were also present.
