International Conference on Education (JICE 2022) begins at JMI

:- Theme of the Conference is Outcome Based Curriculum and Pedagogical Demands in the Post-Covid Era

 

New Delhi: A three-day Jamia International Conference on Education (JICE-2022) began today at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI).  The conference which will continue till May 8, 2022. The conference is being organized by the Department of Teacher Training and Non-Formal Education (DTT &NFE, IASE), JMI. Theme of the Conference is Outcome Based Curriculum and Pedagogical Demands in the Post-Covid Era.

The inaugural function of the conference was held today at the auditorium of the Faculty of Engineering & Technology, JMI and was graced by JMI Vice Chancellor & Chief Patron of the conference Prof. Najma Akhtar.

Around 500 participants had joined online on the WEBEX platform and more than 200 participants attended the inaugural session in offline mode.

Prof. K.R.S. Sambasiva Rao, Vice Chancellor, Mizoram University virtually joined the Inauguration as Chief Guest. He Emphasized upon the Skill Based Education as Postulated in the NEP 2020.

The conference aims to invite intellectuals and researchers working in Teacher Education across the world to discuss and deliberate on various aspects of teacher education curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, and the emerging prospects, concerns, issues, and challenges.

The very purpose of this conference is to envision the outcome-based curriculum and the required changes in the pedagogical and assessment tools, which will be required to prepare sincere, competent, skilled, and humane teachers in the post-Covid Era, which is being sensed, perceived, and predicted to have a new social order with great changes in all walks of life after the gap of two-years of Pandemic.

More than 200 paper presenters from various universities including Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), JMI, JNU, AMU, Central University of Kashmir, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), University of Delhi, Central University of Jammu, University of Illinois- USA, are expected to join the conference.

The conference would witness many diverse themes on which paper would be presented such as Inclusive Education, Vocational Educational, Early Childhood Education amongst many others making it highly interactive and relevant to the field of Teacher Training and Research.
