Indian Institute of Science Bangalore starts new Life Science and Chemical Science Master’s degree programmes

Both courses will involve hands-on laboratory training alongside flexible and foundational coursework for students.

The Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore is offering two new Master of Science degree programs for the Life Science and Chemical Science courses. Both courses will involve hands-on laboratory training alongside flexible and foundational coursework for students. The purpose of both courses is to help students develop advanced skills in research in order for them to work on an independent thesis project. Students are allowed to personalize their research projects and coursework. Special lectures and workshops will further bolster and hone a student’s skills.
 
Students are allowed to specialize in the areas of ecology and evolution, cell and developmental biology, biochemistry and biophysics, neuroscience and behaviour and microbiology and infectious diseases in the case of Life Science. The areas of specialization for Chemical Science are quantum chemistry, organic reactions, spectroscopy, synthetic organic chemistry, statistical mechanics, main group chemistry and organometallic chemistry.
