Mr. Uday Kotak, Founder, Kotak Mahindra Bankpresidedas the Chief Guest

Kolkata, India,  April, 2024: Indian Institute of Management Calcutta conducted todayit’s59th Annual Convocation 2024 on a traditional mode – offline. The flagship event was graced by Mr. Uday Kotak, Founder, Kotak Mahindra Bank as the Chief Guest. He delivered the 59th Convocation Address. The Board of Governors Chairperson, Shri Shrikrishna Kulkarni, and the Director-in-charge of IIM Calcutta, Professor Saibal Chattopadhyay also graced the occasion.

468 students of the 59^th batch of the 2-year flagship MBA programme were awarded their degrees, 76 students were awarded for the 1-Year MBAEx Programme. All 60 students of Batch 7 were awarded for the 2-year PGDBA programme. The award of diplomas was announced for 40 students in Post Graduate Programme for Executives for Visionary Leadership in Manufacturing (PGPEX VLM). The Institute also conferred 15 students with their PhD degrees.

The grand ceremony began with the introduction of the Chief Guest and the presentation of the Annual Report by Professor Saibal Chattopadhyay, Director-in-charge, IIM Calcutta. The Director-in-charge, Professor Saibal Chattopadhyay said, “Students and Alumni are our true brand ambassadors. We have been continuously augmenting our teaching, learning and research environment, work and academic infrastructure considering the institute's vision and mission. I congratulate our bright graduating students on their success and wish them good life and career ahead as these brand ambassadors of IIM Calcutta shine and strive to make the world a better place to live in." 

This was followed by the address of the Chairperson, Board of Governors Shri Shrikrishna Kulkarni.
