Gujarat, India, The Gujarat Gaun Seva Pasandgi Mandal (GSSSB) has officially launched a significant recruitment campaign for the year 2026, inviting applications for a total of 6,550 Class III, Group-A, and Group-B posts. This massive recruitment drive for the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) encompasses several prominent roles, including Junior Clerk, Senior Clerk, Head Clerk, Office Superintendent, Collector Office Clerk, and Social Welfare Inspector. Following a recent update, the total number of available positions was increased, and the application deadline has been extended to March 2, 2026, to accommodate more aspirants.

Candidates interested in these government positions must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or institute to be eligible for consideration. In addition to educational requirements, applicants are expected to possess basic computer proficiency as defined by the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment Rules, as well as adequate knowledge of the Gujarati and Hindi languages. The age criteria for candidates range from 20 to 35 years, with specific relaxations provided for female candidates, reserved categories, and persons with disabilities, ensuring that the selection process remains inclusive.

The selection process for the GSSSB CCE 2026 is structured into two distinct stages designed to test candidates' aptitude and subject knowledge. The first stage is a preliminary Computer-Based Response Test consisting of 150 marks, which serves as a screening mechanism to shortlist candidates for the next phase. Following this, the main examination is conducted, which differs based on the group of the post applied for. Group A candidates will face a descriptive examination covering Gujarati and English language skills along with General Studies, while Group B candidates will appear for a single MCQ-based paper covering diverse subjects such as History, Geography, Polity, Economy, and Science. The final merit list for recruitment will be determined exclusively by the performance in the main examination.

Compensation for these roles is structured around a fixed pay system for the initial five-year period, after which successful candidates will be absorbed into a regular pay scale under the 7th Pay Commission, inclusive of benefits like Dearness Allowance and House Rent Allowance. The monthly fixed pay for positions such as Junior Clerk, Senior Clerk, and Collector Office Clerk is set at ₹26,000, while roles like Head Clerk and Social Welfare Inspector command a fixed salary of ₹40,800. The Office Superintendent position offers the highest starting fixed pay of ₹49,600. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply through the official OJAS portal before the March 2, 2026, deadline, noting that the application fee is refundable to those who appear for the preliminary examination.
