Goa University Calls for a Post of Culture Assistant in a Botany Research Project

Goa University has announced an opening for the post of Culture Assistant in the Botany Discipline, SBSB, for the research project on fungal culture collection,n offering a stipend of Rs. 15,000/- per month. Interested graduates with eligible qualifications need to apply by February 26, 20,26 and attend the walk-in interview on the 3rd of March 2026.

TALEIGAO PLATEAU, GOA, Goa University, the primary public university of Goa state,e has officially announced an opening for the position of Culture Assistant in order to support a specialized research project within the School of Biological Sciences and Biotechnology (SBSB) Department of its Panji campus. The recruitment is specifically for the project titled "Goa University Fungal Culture Collection and Research Unit," which is under the Botany Discipline. This step showcases the university's ongoing commitment to make mycological research more advanced and maintain critical biological data within the state. The university is looking for highly qualified candidates who possess a strong academic background in the life sciences. Coming to the eligibility for the role of Culture Assistant, applicants must hold an M.Sc. degree in one of the relevant disciplines, which include Botany, Life Sciences, Microbiology, or Biotechnology. In addition, candidates must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in their postgraduate studies to meet the essential criteria.

The selected candidate will have an initial appointment for a period of six-months to contribute to the research work of the fungal culture collection unit. For their services, the university is offering a handsome monthly stipend of Rs. 15,000/-. The interested candidates need to note that no additional Traveling Allowance (TA) or Dearness Allowance (DA) will be provided for attending the recruitment process. Candidates who are interested and eligible for the post must submit their applications on plain paper, which could be either handwritten neatly or typed. All these applications, along with all the other relevant educational certificates, should be sent via a proper email to the Principal Investigator (P.I.), Prof. B.F. Rodrigues, at felinov@unigoa.ac.in. The deadline for the submission of applications is February 26, 2026, and candidates are advised to strictly follow the guidelines. Once the application phaseiss over, a walk-in interview is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 3rd of March 2026. The interview will begin at 11:00 am and will be held at the Department of Botany Discipline, SBSB, Goa University. Candidates should be aware that the university will not issue any separate individual advertisement or notice for the interview; therefore, all applicants meeting the eligibility criteria are expected to be present at the venue at the time already mentioned.
