Mahendargarh: Environment and water are invaluable heritage provided by nature. Its protection and development is the duty of every citizen. According to the changed circumstances in the present time, it is very important that practical efforts should be carried out in this direction with scientific attitude. If there is a combination of technology and ancient knowledge, it is not difficult to solve the major challenges faced by mankind like climate change and water crisis. This idea was shared by the eminent Prof. V.P. Singh of Texas A&M University at Central University of Haryana (CUH) Mahendragarh while addressing the students and teachers. The expert lecture on Environment and Water Management organized by the Department of Civil Engineering in the University in collaboration with Indian Water Resource Society and Indian Institute of Engineers (India) was presided over by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar.
The Vice Chancellor in his address said that his presence in the University would help the students, teachers and researchers to know and understand the various changes going on in the field of environment and water conservation. The Vice Chancellor said that in view of the impact of climate change, it has become necessary to ensure better use of technology for environmental protection. He inspired the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering to make a joint effort for this. The Vice Chancellor said that in the changing times, challenges are also emerging at a new level. In such a situation, their diagnosis is possible only through socially useful research. After this expert speaker Prof. V.P. Singh while addressing the participants threw light on ecology, eco-system, management of natural resources, management of water resources, utility of water for mankind and water conservation and environmental protection before the world community and mentioned the various efforts needed for improvement in circumstances. A special Q&A session was also organized at the end of the program in which students and teachers also got their various doubts resolved.
The convener of this program organized by the School of Engineering Technology, Prof. Vikas Garg introduced the expert speaker while Dr. Abhishek Jindal, Assistant Professor of the department introduced the Vice Chancellor of the University. In the successful organization of this program, the coordinator Prof. Ajay Bansal, Prof. Phool Singh, Engineer Deepak Rana, Dr. Neeraj Kumar, Dr. Vikas Kumar, Dr. Ranbir Singh, Dr. Pinki Arora, Engineer Sudhir and student coordinator Kush Sinha, Akash Manav, Kaushal Jha and Shubham Chaudhary made important contributions. At the end of the program, the vote of thanks was presented by Assistant Professor Sunny Tanwar.
