DUTA members unanimously passed the Secretary’s and Treasurer’s Report

:- These reports were earlier unanimously passed by DUTA Executive in its meeting held on August 29, 2022, in a detailed discussion that lasted for more than seven hours

 

New Delhi: In the Delhi University Teacher’s Association (DUTA) Annual General Body Meeting (GBM) today held at SGTB Khalsa College, thousands of teachers participated and unanimously passed the Secretary's Report as well as Treasurer's Report (November 26, 2022, to August 31, 2022). These reports were earlier unanimously passed by DUTA Executive in its meeting held on August 29, 2022, in a detailed discussion that lasted for more than seven hours.

DUTA President Prof. A.K. Bhagi welcomed all the teachers present for the GBM and briefed them about the first year of his tenure as the DUTA President regarding performance and action program on the issues of absorption of ad-hoc colleagues, promotions, pay fixation, arrears, and many more issues. He also informed the gathering about the demands raised with DU administration, MoE, and UGC on 25% EWS expansion seats, Anomalies Committee Reports on UGC regulations, and fund crisis in 12 colleges of DU, fully funded by Delhi Govt. And the Old Pension Scheme. Dr. Surender Singh, Secretary, DUTA, tabled Secretary's Report, and Dr. Chaman Singh, Treasurer, DUTA, presented the Treasurer's Report, and both the reports were passed unanimously.

Immediately after the DUTA GBM, as per the decision of the DUTA Executive, thousands of teachers participated in the long march starting from SGTB Khalsa College to Gate No. 01, VC Office, Chhatra Marg via Miranda House, DRC, Ramjas, St. Stephens, Hindu College. Protesting teachers raised slogans for the absorption of ad-hoc/temporary teachers through one-time regulation as well as EWS seats after the expansion of EWS reservations. They also raised slogans against the Delhi Government for the fund cut and irregular grants to 12 DU colleges fully funded by Delhi Govt.

Teachers assembled at Gate No. 01, VC Office, continued sloganeering for awakening the consciousness of DU administration through their slogans. Afterward, DUTA President Prof. A.K. Bhagi informed along with other DUTA Office Bearers met and discussed these issues with the DU administration. Director South Campus, DU, Prof. Shri Prakash Singh, and Registrar Dr. Vikas Gupta were present at the meeting. DU administration assured DUTA to take proactive action on these issues. In the meeting, DU Officials informed the DUTA Office Bearers that they will ask Principals to submit details against the demand of 25% EWS seats. They will look after the pending promotions and will talk about and resolve the ongoing financial crisis in 12 DU colleges fully funded by Delhi Government.
