Delhi Directorate of Education releases Promotion Policy for Class IX and XI

:- According to the order released in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, the promotion policy 2019-20 of class IX and XI was earlier released. But the same promotion policy is not applicable for academic session 2021-22

 

New Delhi: Directorate of Education, Government of NCT Delhi on March 11, 2022 released an order for the promotion policy of class IX and XI for academic session 2021-22.

According to the order released in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, the promotion policy 2019-20 of class IX and XI was earlier released. But the same promotion policy is not applicable for academic session 2021-22.

For the current academic session, the result will be calculated based on the marks obtained by the student in Term 1/Term 2/ Term 1 and 2 examinations and will be declared on the basis of the modified promotion rules.

The modified promotion rules for class IX and XI are:

  1. Result of the students will be calculated on the basis of marks obtained in the Mid Term (Term 1), marks of Annual Exam (Term 2) and the marks of Internal Assessment. Passing criteria will be 33% in each of the five main subjects.
  2. In case a student does not score 33% marks in any of the Language Paper (Language 1 and Language 2) in class IX, third language opted and qualified for the students will replace either Language 1 or Language 2 just for the promotion.
  3. It is mandatory for a student to qualify in the additional subject opted before appearing in class X/XII Board Exam
  4. Skill course subject opted by the student in class IX will not replace any elective subject, that is, Maths, Natural Science, Social Science, Music, Home Science and Painting
  5. A maximum of 15 grace marks will be awarded to a student to reach the minimum requirement of 33% in any of the subject
  6. The schools which conducted examinations in blended mode for Term 2 shall be allowed to compute the result based upon the scores obtained by the students. In case the student could not appear in offline exam of Term 2 due to lack of parental consent or school could not conduct online/offline examination, the school shall conduct such examination after March 31, 2022 in offline mode. The marks obtained by the student in this examination will be used to calculate the marks
  7. In case a student could not appear in Term 1/Term 2 examination or scores less than 33% marks in one or more subjects shall be eligible for the ‘Compartment Examination’ that will be conducted after March 31, 2022 in offline mode
  8. Compartment Examination will be conducted on the basis of syllabus, design of question paper and weightage of marks of annual examinations (Term 2).
  9. Result of Compartment Examination will be declared on the basis of conversion of marks obtained by the student in Compartment Examination plus marks of Internal Assessment taken together. For conversion of marks, the Maximum marks and Marks obtained will be multiplied by two. The student must secure minimum of 33% for promotion into higher class.
  10. No benefit of grace marks will be given to student for computing of Compartment Examination

All Government, Government Aided, and Recognized Un-Aided Schools should comply with these guidelines.
