CUH team won 2nd prize at Grand Innovation Challenge SPARK 2.0

"The students from the Department of Microbiology and Chemistry, Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh have won 2nd position at Grand Innovation Challenge SPARK 2.0- A Unique Ideathon Competition for students

 

New Delhi. "The students from the Department of Microbiology and Chemistry, Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh have won 2nd position at Grand Innovation Challenge SPARK 2.0-  A Unique Ideathon Competition for students. Prof.Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of the University congratulated the students and mentors for this achievement and mentioned that innovative practices are required at each stage of learning to become successful enterpreneurs. The SPARK challenge was conducted by BSC BIonestBioincubator, Regional Center for Biotechnology, Faridabad with an aim to promote design thinking, innovation and to create an entrepreneurial mind-set amongst students. The students team comprise Mr Souparno Paul (PhD scholar, Department of Microbiology) as team leader and Mr Abhishek De and Ms. KalpanaPoonia (B.Sc and M.Sc students, Department of Chemistry). The team has presented their innovative idea on extraction of rare earth elements (REE) from electronic wastes using sustainable green approaches. The team was selected for 2nd position through national level competition amongst 11 shortlisted teams from all over India. The team worked under mentorship of Prof.GunjanGoel and Dr. Prakash Kanoo from Department of Microbiology and Chemistry.Prof.Surendra Singh, HoD, Department of Microbiology andProf. Vinod Kumar, HoD, Department of Chemistry also congratulated the winning team and encouraged the students to participate in such competitions.
