CUH students win Laurels at IAAC 2023

The vice chancellor also mentioned the acquiring of a new 6" Telescope by the department of Physics which will be used for astronomy related extension activities by the University

Haryana Eight students of Department of Physics and Astrophysics, Central University of Haryana
(CUH), Haryana bagged top positions at the recently held International Astronomy and
Astrophysics Competition (IAAC)-2023. The Vice Chancellor, Professor Tankeshwar
Kumar congratulated the winners and motivated them to achieve greater heights in their
ongoing academic journey. The vice chancellor also mentioned the acquiring of a new 6"
Telescope by the department of Physics which will be used for astronomy related
extension activities by the University.
The IAAC is an online astronomy competition for students from all countries. Among
various prizes, Tanya Tanvi got Gold, Tarun, Priya Mittal, Girdish Laishram bagged
Silver while Shubham Pathy, Vasudha, Taniya and Rohit Jangid got Bronze honours.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Sushma Yadav, Prof. Pawan Kumar and Prof. Sunita
Srivastava encouraged the winners to strive hard and earn a name for themselves and the
University globally. Faculty members from the Department of Physics Dr. Rakesh
Kumar, Prof. Suneel Kumar, Dr. Ankush , Dr. Ramovatar, Jaswant Yadav, Dr.
Ramandeep, Dr. Meenu Thakur, Dr. Rajni Bansal, Dr. Yashvir Kalkal, Dr. Chandani, Dr.
Anshu and Prof. Manoj Kumar Singh were present on the occasion to congratulate the
award winners.
