CUH Launches Prof. Nand Kishor’s Two Volumes on “Innovating with Tradition

The Central University of Haryana launched two volumes edited by Prof. Nand Kishor—“Innovating with Tradition” and “Reimagining 21st Century Teacher Education in India.” The books integrate Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) with NEP 2020, emphasizing value-based and future-ready education.

 

Mahendergarh, Haryana — The Central University of Haryana (CUH) witnessed a momentous occasion with the launch of two scholarly volumes edited by Prof. Nand Kishor, focusing on the integration of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) with modern education. The books titled “Innovating with Tradition: Integration of Bhartiya Gyaan Parampara, Teacher Education and NEP 2020” and its sequel “Reimagining 21st Century Teacher Education in India – Integrating Bhartiya Gyaan Parampara, NEP 2020, and Technology” were unveiled in a vibrant ceremony attended by academicians, students, and distinguished guests.

Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice Chancellor of CUH, appreciated the academic depth and visionary approach of the books, congratulating Prof. Nand Kishor for his remarkable contribution to the discourse on education reform. He emphasized that such works play a pivotal role in bridging India’s traditional wisdom with contemporary educational needs.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Nand Kishor highlighted that both volumes seek to blend India’s timeless knowledge heritage with the transformative framework of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Drawing insights from legendary scholars such as Aryabhata, Charaka, Panini, and Patanjali, he noted that true innovation in education emerges when institutions reconnect with India’s cultural and intellectual roots to build a value-based and inclusive system ready for the future.

Dr. Pawan Kumar Sharma, Pro-Vice Chancellor, also extended his congratulations, describing the books as a meaningful stride toward integrating Indian Knowledge Systems into teacher education. The event was attended by eminent academicians including Prof. Antresh Kumar, Prof. Akash Saxena, and Dr. Manish Kumar, along with representatives from the Social Study Foundation and Samajik Samrasta Manch.
