New Delhi. : The Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) launched its CDOE Biannual Newsletter ‘The CDOE POST,’ ‘CDOE Prospectus 2024-2025’, and the CDOE official YouTube Channel ‘CDOE JMI OFFICIAL’ on July 23, 2024, in the Conference Room of the centre. Officiating Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mohammed Shakeel graced the ocassion as the Chief Guest, and former Vice-Chancellor of MANUU, Hyderabad, Prof. Mohammad Miyan was the Guest of Honour of the launch event. The Chief Proctor Prof. Mohammad Shahid Khan, CPIO Dr. Maqsood Ahmad Malik, and other officials of the university were also present to grace the occasion.
JMI Officiating Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mohammad Shakeel and Prof. Mohammad Miyan jointly released the Biannual Newsletter, the CDOE Prospectus 2024-2025, and launched the CDOE Official YouTube Channel in the glittering event.
The Hony. Director of CDOE, Prof. Jasim Ahmed expressed his gratitude to all the guests for visiting the centre on the occasion. He mentioned that the centre currently has more than 17,000 students and offers 24 programmes. He addressed the current challenges faced by the Centre and outlined a roadmap to overcome them in due course of time. Prof. Jasim sought support from both invitees for the development of the centre to achieve the objectives of the centre and the NEP 2020.
Prof. Mohammad Miyan expressed his happiness with the report presented by the Hony. Director of CDOE. He emphasized the need to prepare in advance for future requirements to ensure the smooth operation of the centre. He emphasised on the collective responsibility to elevate the centre to the next level and noted that the Distance and Online Mode is enhancing the reach and popularity of JMI. Prof. Miyan also shared nostalgic memories of his time as the founding director of the CDOE, JMI.
Prof. Mohammad Shakeel, Officiating Vice-Chancellor of JMI, congratulated Prof. Jasim Ahmad, for his efforts towards the publication of the CDOE Biannual Newsletter, the CDOE Prospectus 2024-2025, and the launch of the CDOE official YouTube Channel. He emphasized the importance of taking proper actions to curb malpractices in examinations, both online and offline mode. Prof. Shakeel stated that improving examination stringency would produce competent students and enhance the centre's reputation. He also reminisced about his tenure as Director of the centre when he established a Learning Support Centre for B.Ed. in Kuwait and introduced the OMR system for B.Ed. entrance examinations in CDOE.
