New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the postponement of Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations scheduled for March 2, 2026 in several countries in the Middle East. The affected locations include Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, where schools affiliated to CBSE operate and students were to appear for the scheduled papers.
CBSE’s official communication cited the ongoing security situation in the region as the basis for deferring the examinations on that date. The Board has said that the exams will be rescheduled and fresh dates will be announced later after reviewing developments. Students and school authorities in the affected regions have been advised to stay in contact with respective schools for official updates.
The decision follows reports of escalating military tensions involving USA, Israel and Iran, which have led to heightened safety concerns and disruptions across parts of the Middle East. Several international news agencies have reported on airspace advisories and precautionary measures being taken in and around the region.
CBSE has stated that it will review the situation on March 3, 2026 and determine whether examinations scheduled from March 5 onwards can proceed as planned. The Board’s circular also noted that Indian embassies and consulates have been informed of the changes to support coordination in the affected countries.
