New Delhi : - Commenting on the Union Budget 2026, Dr. Lokanath Mishra, Professor (Accounts and Finance), Institute of Management, JK Lakshmipat University, said that the budget outlines a future-ready education ecosystem that connects creativity, industry needs, and inclusive access.
According to Dr. Mishra, the budget recognises the rapid growth of India’s design and innovation sectors and proposes the establishment of a National Institute of Design in East India, aimed at nurturing regional talent and expanding opportunities in the creative economy.
He further noted that the proposed development of five university townships in collaboration with state governments will create an integrated academic zones hosting universities, colleges, skill centres and residential facilities. These townships are expected to align education closely with industry requirements and workforce demands.
Highlighting the budget's emphasis on inclusivity Dr. Mishra pointed or out provisions such as girls' hostels in every district, expansion of laboratories in thousands of schools and increased support for innovation-oriented institutions across sectors. He said these initiatives reinforce the idea that education should unlock both individual potential and employment opportunities.
Dr. Mishra added that by linking educational infrastructure with emerging sectors and ensuring broader access, The Union Budget 2026 takes a significant steps towards preparing learners for success in a dynamic global economy.
