IGNOU organizes Startup Fest 2023

For the last few years, NCIDE at IGNOU has been promoting, supporting, training and mentoring students and alumni to set up their business ventures and startups aimed at contributing to the Startup India Mission of the government of India towards Atmanirbhar Bharat. A number of IGNOU students and alumni have taken such startup initiatives across the country.

 NEW DELHI ,On July 02, 2023, Minister of State for Education, Dr. Subhash Sarkar in the presence of Prof. Nageshwar Rao, Vice Chancellor, IGNOU inaugurated the Startup Fest-2023 organized by the National Centre for Innovation in Distance education (NCIDE), IGNOU. The Hon'ble Minister said that the Startup festival is a good initiative and it will inspire other students of IGNOU. Total nine startup initiatives by IGNOU Students and Alumni were exhibited in the Startup fest which included CraftUrCareer Educations Pvt. Ltd. and IG Crafter – The Indian Gifting by Mr. Chandan Kumar; Surpriso Pvt. Ltd. by Mr. Ujjaval Kapoor; Creamy Maza by Mr. Tapanjeet Singh and Ms. Anita Singh; Thynaa Healthy Naturally Pvt. Ltd. by Mr. Sanchit Aggarwal; Gaudrika Digital Labour Chowk Pvt. Ltd. by Mr. Chandrashekhar Mandal; Grower’s Cart by Mr. Himanshu S. Sagar; Tech and Bros Planet and E-Debris & Neoterics by Mr. Chirag Khatri. A number of faculty members and guests visited the fest and appreciated the efforts of IGNOU students in setting up their startups.

For the first time to recognize the innovative efforts made by the students and alumni to set up their business ventures and to provide them a common platform, IGNOU organized this Startup Fest-2023 in which 9 startup initiatives from Delhi NCR were exhibited. In order to recognize and appreciate their effort to become job providers rather than job seekers, the Hon'ble Minister gave them trophies and certificates as a token of appreciation. He interacted with the founders of each startup individually and gave them suggestions for further improvement. Also, he blessed these startups to achieve great heights. Prof. Nageshwar Rao, Vice Chancellor, IGNOU also said that the initiatives by IGNOU students will contribute towards the Atmanirbhar Bharat in a great way. All these students were very happy and excited by participating in this event.
