Andhra Pradesh Launches ‘Talliki Vandanam’ Scheme 2025: Rs 15,000 Annual Aid Per School Child

CM Chandrababu Naidu’s Flagship Scheme to Benefit 67 Lakh Students and 43 Lakh Mothers Across the State

Andhra Pradesh: The TDP-led NDA government in Andhra Pradesh has rolled out the ambitious ‘Talliki Vandanam’ scheme, under which every school-going child from Class I to Intermediate will receive Rs 15,000 annually. The scheme is designed to provide direct financial assistance to mothers and guardians, irrespective of the number of children in the family.

Announced as part of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s ‘Super Six’ welfare promises during the 2024 elections, the initiative aims to promote education, empower mothers, and support household welfare across the state.

Direct Benefit with Educational Purpose
According to Secretary to Government Kona Sasidhar, “The government has issued guidelines for the implementation of the ‘Talliki Vandanam’ scheme, a key initiative designed to empower mothers/guardians by extending financial assistance of Rs 15,000 per annum per child.”

Out of the Rs 15,000, Rs 2,000 will be deducted at source for improving school infrastructure, hygiene, and sanitation, aligning with the scheme’s educational focus.

Broad Coverage Across School Types
The scheme will cover students from government, private aided, and private unaided schools and junior colleges. Enrolments into Class I and Junior Intermediate for the academic year 2025–26 will also be eligible.

With a projected reach of over 67 lakh students and 43 lakh mothers, this initiative is being described by the government as the “mother of all welfare schemes.”

Implementation Timeline: June 12 to July 5, 2025
The implementation and disbursement of the scheme will take place between June 12 and July 5, 2025, as per official orders.

The government believes this scheme will not only improve educational participation but also encourage family growth, as part of the state's broader demographic strategy.

“This scheme empowers mothers to be actively involved in their children’s schooling from Class 1 to Class 12, recognising their pivotal role in shaping educational progress,” Sasidhar added.
