NDTF has made an appeal to teachers to achieve nearly 100 % voting

Duta Election Is To Be Held On 26th November

New Delhi. :DUTA election is to be held on 26th November, 2021. NDTF has made an appeal to teachers to achieve nearly 100 % voting. This will set an example for the society and help to strengthen the democratic values and also the real voice of teachers will be heard at appropriate levels.

A K Bhagi, the presidential candidate of NDTF panel has declared their group is fully committed to revival of the 'Idea of DUTA' and to protecting the dignity of teachers. These elections are taking place at one of the most crucial times when regularisation of existing Adhoc Teachers is on top agenda of all groups. NDTF adds that the Promotion for all up to professorship in colleges and Senior Professorship in University Departments is also in its agenda. There is also a whole baggage of unresolved issues of teachers such as grant cut by AAP government, issues related to librarians, physical education teachers, anomalies of the 6th & 7th Pay Committee. A K Bhagi says that all these issues need to be attended and corrected on priority basis. NDTF if given a chance to lead DUTA will work over time with fullest honesty for realisation of teachers demands through protracted struggle with a measured blend of agitation and negotiation.

In this election, NDTF candidate is banking upon its achievements and the central role it played resolving many issues in recent past and therefore confident decisive support coming from teachers. NDTF claims that it helped teachers for speedy & decentralised promotion by self-appraisal proforma for all with dignity through UGC Regulations, 2018 that too without/relaxed requirement of API for promotions. Professorship in colleges and Senior Professorship in university departments under CAS is its major achievement. 5500+ units of promotions from Stage 1 to Senior Professorships all within 12 months happened through this. Another important issue that got resolved are revival of Teachers Welfare Funds and extending its benefit to teachers working on adhoc/temporary basis. Increasing ward quota seats at UG level and expanding its ambit for PG courses, test based courses and for adhoc/temporary teachers along with getting good riddance from Prof Tyagi & his administration is also being discussed among teachers.
Prof Bhagi says that NDTF will pursue the demand of regularisation/absorption of teachers working in adhoc/temporary basis with ZERO displacement policy observing all constitutional provisions of social reservation through one time regulation/ordinance by the government. Sanctioning and filling of all EWS teaching positions is also demanded with no to EWS reservation on positions created, advertised & filled through adhoc arrangement before 01.02.2019.
NDTF demands the implementation of National Education Policy only after regularisation is completed. Concerns/apprehension related to Hons courses, workload, tenure appointments, etc. shall be addressed first. Full government funding & democratic participation of academicians in all decision making must continue. NDTF says a Big NO to MOOCS in any attempt to replace any formal regular course & not allowing any cut/reduction of grants or posts. NDTF also demands improvement and addition in academic infrastructure (class rooms, tutorial rooms, well equipped laboratories, better library facilities, e-journals), liberal research grants. Ensuring overall improvement of DU administrative system and making it more responsive and accountable.
