New Delhi. : Jamia Millia Islamia(JMI) Vice Chancellor Prof. Najma Akhtar today hosted a ‘Wishing You a Happy Farewell’ event followed by a tea party for eight employees of the university who retired from their services in December,2021.

On this occasion the Vice Chancellor said that major life events like retirement merits a ‘Wishing You Happy Farewell’. These employees worked for so many years with the university and standing with them at the time of an emotional moment like farewell is a very noble and encouraging gesture.    “The idea behind the event was to share their happiness and wishing them all the best for their future endeavours and healthy life.”

Prof. Akhtar once again reiterated that it was the collective efforts of all the teaching and non-teaching employees of the university that resulted in A++ accreditation by NAAC.

Employees who retired from their services are Ashhad Alam, Mahfooz Ahmad, Mohammad Farooq, Mohammad Hasan, Mohd. Mursaleen, Prof. MN Doja, Shaikhul Inam and Shamsher Ali Ansari.  Retired employees said that this is probably the first time that such an initiative has been taken by any Vice Chancellor of the university.
