Swachta Drive Held In AMU

Aligarh: Swachhta Pachwada is being observed at Women's College and at all the departments of AMU. As part of this initiative, saplings of trees having high CO2 absorbing capacity were planted in college premises by the Principal of Women's College, Professor Naima Khatoon, and many senior teachers in the presence of all the staff members on September 8 at 12 p.m. More than 75 teachers participated in this program.
A pledge was also taken by the staff members to observe cleanliness and hygiene in daily life. Prof. Naima Khatoon administered the pledge. The teachers pledged to devote 100 hours towards Swachhta and also pledged to make others aware and sensitize them about the importance of cleanliness in making a healthy environment.
The program was coordinated by Professor Munira T with assistance from Dr. Taiyaba Nasrin and Dr. Mansoor Alam Siddiqui. All Covid related protocols were followed.
Meanwhile, a 15-day long special awareness campaign and cleanliness drive is going on at the Department of Arabic at AMU to sensitize people on all aspects of Swachhta on personal, physical, mental, environmental, and societal levels.
