UGC Scholarships : Closing date for filling online applications is 30th November
New Delhi: University Grant Commission has released a notice for Extension of Timeline for Online Applications for Scholarship. Closing date for filling online applications by students is 30th November, 2020 and the closing date for Verification of applications by institutions of students including re-submission of defective applications is on 15th December, 2020.
According to information, UGC has invited fresh applications from regular and full time students under the following four schemes for the Academic Year 2020-2021:
1.Indira Gandhi PG Scholarship for Single Girl Child (SGC)
2.PG Scholarship for University Rank Holder Candidate (URH)
3.Ishan Uday Special Scheme for North Eastern Region (NER)
4.PG Scholarship for Professional Courses for SC/ST candidates (PGSPROF)
The guidelines of each scheme may be accessed at 'National Scholarship Portal'. The students who are eligible and are admitted in the recognised institutions, as per the guidelines, may submit their applications through National Scholarship Portal on its website- https://scholarships.gov.in/
The Portal is open since 1st September 2020 and will be open for receiving applications for 'Fresh' as well as 'Renewals' as per the timelines. The students are advised to submit their online applications well in time so that their institutions are able to verify applications within the prescribed timelines.
The eligible institutions are also advised to verify applications of their students immediately after receiving the applications on Portal. It would be in the interest of students, if all the applications are verified by Institutions by 10th December, 2020. So that they are able to correct the defected applications.
