Haryana :- A three-day workshop sponsored by IUCAA, Pune on Formation and Evolution of Galaxies started from Monday 18 March at Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendragarh. Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of the University said that workshop directly means an event in which the participants understand the available knowledge as well as its practical aspects. The Vice Chancellor said that this workshop organized by the Department of Physics and Astrophysics will prove useful for the participants in future. Prof. T.R. Seshadri, Department of Physics and Astrophysics, University of Delhi was the expert speaker in the inaugural session of the event. 

Prof. Sunita Srivastava, Chairperson of the workshop and Head of the Department presented the welcome address and gave information about the workshop. On this occasion, she also mentioned the activities of 'Nakshatra Club' of the University. Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar emphasized on result-oriented studies and said that such events provide new opportunities for future research by providing participants direct interaction with experts. Prof. T.R. Sheshadri, Expert Speaker threw light on the formation and evolution of galaxies in detail and informed the participants about the scientific aspects related to it. Prof. NeelamSangwan, Dean Research and Prof. Suneel Kumar, Registrar of the University were also present. Dr. Jaswant, Coordinator of this workshop, said that participants in the workshop will be provided an opportunity to know and understand the topics related to astrophysics through different experts.
