West Bengal Board to conduct 12th Board Exams Twice a Year.

Kolkata: Unlike CBSE and ICSE, which divided board exams into two parts, the West Bengal Council of Higher Education (WBCHSE) also likely to follow the same pattern from the upcoming session of 2023-24 .This year West Bengal Board has conducted 12th Board once only.

The Central Government New Education Policy is being implemented in most of educational institutions all over India from the session 2022-23. The New Education Policy follows the 5+3+3+4 structure that comprises 12 years of school and 3years of Anganwadi/pre-school replacing old 10+2 structure.

The state government has denied accepting the new education policy implemented by central government and said that West Bengal government will be making its own education policy for the state. The committee will formulate its own education policy for class 12 students.

CM, Mamta Banerjee told that the new committee would conduct a meeting on May 6; decision will be taken on the meeting regarding the board exams to be conducted twice a year and education policy for the state. Education Minister Bratya Basu will also be attending the meeting. The final decision will be taken after the meeting.

WBCHSE apparently want to conduct the board exam in two parts from this year only, however, it was not possible due to time constraints. Hence, the department has decided to take the necessary steps to divide the board exam into two parts from beforehand.
