New Delhi: The National Testing Agency(NTA) has clarified that the UGC NET examination scheduled at Nitin Girls Senior Secondary School (NGSSS) was held peacefully after chaos emerged initially at the centre.

As per the official press release, The exam started a bit late at 9:15 am when 174 candidates logged in. However, The examination was disrupted at around 9:30 am. The electricity supply of some of the rooms was snapped and The examination had to be stooped. Police were called to the spot and an additional observer was also brought to assess the situation.

According to the agency, The examination started ‘peacefully’ at 11:15 am and three hours were given to all candidates. Some candidates opted for the second shift in the same centre but ‘seeing the sensitivity of the situation’ NTA arranged the exam at other centres in Jaipur for the second shift. The agency also arranged buses to take candidates to these centres.

The agency also stated that Forensic analysis of the answers will be done before declaring the results. An FIR has also been lodged against the miscreants who disrupted the examination. A committee, including a cyber security expert, has also been formed. Till the report of the committee is received, no NTA examinations will be held at this centre.
