Two day national seminar focusing on IKS started at CUH

The keynote speaker of the inaugural session, Professor Pawan Sharma, mentioned in detail the damage caused to the Indian education system by the British rule and its reasons.

Haryana :- A two-day national conference focused on the Indian Knowledge System in Commerce and Management began on Thursday at Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendragarh. The inaugural session of this seminar, organized in collaboration with the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), was addressed as the chief guest by Professor Prafulla Y Agnihotri, Director, Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh. Whereas as special guests, Prof. R.K. Mittal, Vice Chancellor, Chaudhary Bansi Lal University (CBLU) and former Vice Chancellor of DeenbandhuChhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, Prof. R.K. Anayat graced the program. Professor Pawan Sharma of Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut was present as the keynote speaker in the inaugural session, while the inaugural session was presided over by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof.Tankeshwar Kumar and on this occasion the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof.Sushma Yadav, the first lady of the University, Prof.Sunita Srivastava were also present.

Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof.Tankeshwar Kumar, in his presidential address, expressed his gratitude to all the guests participating in the event. In his address, he said that the role of youth is very important in building a developed India. The youth can move forward in this direction only when they understand our ancient knowledge traditions. The Vice Chancellor said that now the time has come for Indians to know their true history and move forward by understanding it. Chief guest Prof.Prafulla Y Agnihotri threw light on the Indian knowledge tradition in detail. Referring to Ayurveda, Indian theatre and philosophy, he told how prosperous we were in ancient times. He said that describing the Vedas as an infinite storehouse of knowledge, he inspired the youth to study them. Prof. RK Mittal inspired the youth to contribute to the development of India by mentioning in detail about trade, mutual cooperation, development of all people, importance of Indian small scale industries and Sanatan thinking in ancient times. Former Vice Chancellor of DeenbandhuChhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, Prof. RK Anayat presented the Indian knowledge tradition and thinking to the participants in very few words.

He said that the situation is changing since 2014 and the emphasis on education in mother tongue and study of Indian knowledge tradition in the new National Education Policy-2020 is proof that we are now trying to regain our ancient identity at the global level. Prof.Pawan Sharma also drew everyone's attention towards the Indian Vedas and Puranas and the knowledge described in them. Pro Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof.Sushma Yadav said that today we are living in the Amritkaal and in such a situation, only by knowing and understanding the Indian knowledge tradition, the path to building a developed India can be paved. She described the ideas presented by the experts involved in the event as a guide in this direction. The program started with the lighting of the lamp. After which Dr.RajendraMeena, Head of the Department of Commerce and coordinator of the seminar, welcomed all the guests, experts and participants. Organizing Secretary of the seminar, Dr.SunitaTanwar, in her address presented the outline of the two-day seminar and highlighted its need and importance. Dean of the School of Business and Management Studies, Professor RanjanAneja, while welcoming all the guests in his address, mentioned the objective of this seminar and said that the new National Education Policy will also focus on understanding the Indian knowledge tradition for development at the global level. Certainly this event will prove to be an important effort in the direction of emphasizing on building the young generation. During the event, the stage was moderated by Professor Nand Kishore of the Department of Teacher Education, while the vote of thanks was presented by Dr.Divya, co-convenor of the seminar. On this occasion, Prof.Anand Sharma, Prof. Rajiv Kaushik, Prof. Ashish Mathur, Dr. Kamaraj, seminar co-ordinator Dr.Suman, Dr.Ravindra Kaur, Dr.Bhushan, and Dr. Ajay Kumar were prominently present.
