Suspension of principals of reputed schools due to “internal matters”

Bengaluru: Principles of Bengaluru’s most reputed schools, Bishop Cotton Boys School, St John’s High School suspended due to some unknown “internal affairs”. These two schools are managed under the Church of South India. The cause of what led to suspension was not known immediately.

A report said that action has been taken amid allegations of violations of due process. Though it’s not known what these allegations are, they have been termed as “internal matters” of the institutions.

The Bishop Cotton Boys School, located on Residency Road, is managed by the Karnataka Central Diocese of the Church of South India. The Bishop of the Diocese and the chairman of the school board, Reverend PK Samuel informed the staff that Edwin Christopher, the principal of Bishop Cotton Boys school (BCBS) has been suspended and the letter from the chairman of the school staff stated that the Executive committee of the school met on July 11 and “after taking due consideration of various matters, decided to suspend Prof. Dr S Edwin Christopher as Principal with immediate effect”.

The principal of St. John’s High School, Shanta Susheela has also been suspended. This school being managed by the Church South India hasn’t revealed the reason for suspension yet.

Reverend PK Samuel said that suspensions are an “internal matter” and detailed information for the suspension will be revealed once the inquiry has been completed.
