Kharagpur, West Bengal: The Department of Architecture, School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal, in collaboration with the Department of Architecture and Regional Planning, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, is organizing a short-term online course on "Fundamental Principles of Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ)".
Course Overview
The 20-hour course aims to familiarize participants with the basics of IEQ in energy-efficient buildings, covering topics such as heat transfer, thermal comfort, daylighting, indoor air quality, and acoustics management.
Course Outline
The course will include theoretical lectures and hands-on workshops, covering topics such as:
- Basics of building science
- Heat transmission through building envelope and thermal comfort parameters
- Active and passive cooling strategies
- Indoor air quality management
- Daylighting and artificial lighting
- Building acoustics and noise deduction principles

The course is open to students, faculty, and industry professionals from architecture, planning, civil engineering, and environmental planning backgrounds.
Registration Details
The last date for registration is August 27, 2024. The program fee is ₹1000 for students and ₹2500 for faculty and industry professionals. An e-certificate will be provided after successful completion of the course.
