The students applying to the Mumbai University Institute of Distance and Open Learning are urged to consider the course list and their corresponding eligibility criteria before initiating the admission process.

All processes required for the registration are to be initiated online through their official website (https://mu.ac.in/distance-open-learning) and the applicant must keep the following set of documents with them while doing so:-

  • Scanned copy of their signature (against a white background)
  • Passport size colour photograph
  • A valid Email ID and a mobile number

All courses accept applicants based on merit except MCA. The MCA programme requires the applicant to take an entrance test.

Therefore, the minimum eligibility for UG courses is a class 12 graduation with at least 50% of the marks, whereas applicants for master's programmes must have a graduate degree in a relevant discipline with not less than 50% of the marks. Furthermore, admissions to doctoral programmes are based on valid qualifying marks and a university-based entrance exam, accompanied by a personal interview session.

Applicants shortlisted for these programmes are then called for the document verification process.

Interested applicants have an opportunity to pursue their education through distance learning, eliminating the requirement to attend conventional in-person classes. This innovative approach will allow them to simultaneously dedicate time to various entrepreneurial endeavours while still attaining higher education.
