Ram Gurukul Gaman staged in CUH

Unique Event at CUH uses Ramayana to Spread Message Against Drug Abuse and Cybercrime

Mahendergarh : The play 'Ram GurukulGaman' was staged at Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh on Tuesday with the cooperation of Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau and YAHA Haryana. Through this program in the University, a message was given to the youth about Shri Ram, protecting the penance of sages and saints in the ancient culture of India and against drug abuse and cyber-crime in modern India. Prof.Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice Chancellor of the Universitymade the students take a pledge that they will neither take drugs nor let anyone else do so. On this occasion, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau, Karnal, Mr. Satish Vats and Director of YAHA Haryana, Mr. Anil Kaushik were present as guest of honour.

Prof.Tankeshwar Kumar expressed gratitude to various colleagues for this event and congratulated them and said that by following the path of Lord Shri Ram, the end of the demon of drug abuse will be ensured. Through the staging of this musical drama, organized by the joint efforts of the University's Drug Eradication Cell, Dean Student Welfare Office, National Service Scheme, Youth Red Cross and Bharat Scouts and Guides, an attempt was made to make the participating youth aware of the problem of drug addiction and cyber-crime arising in modern India through the context of Lord Shri Ram protecting the havan of sage Vishwamitra in Ramayana. The director of Ram GurukulGaman inspired the youth in a very unique way to build a new India.

Mr. Satish Vats praised the efforts of the University and said that the anti-drug campaign will definitely get a boost through this effort. He said that often we see that drug addiction has a role to play behind major crimes. If the youth gives up drug addiction, then the crimes arising from it will also be curbed. Mr. Anil Kaushik said that youth power plays an important role in the integrity and development of any nation. He said that every character of Ramayana in TretaYug is a symbol of how they worked to crush the evils. At the end of the program, Prof. Dinesh Chahal highlighted the usefulness of the event and the vote of thanks was given by the coordinator of the Drug Eradication Cell of the University, Dr. Dinesh Kumar. On this occasion, Dr.Renu Yadav, Dr.Neeraj Karan Singh, Dr.Kamraj Sindhu, Dr. Pradeep Kumar, NSS Coordinator Dr. Pradeep Kumar and Dr.Neelam were present along with a large number of teachers, students and researchers.
