New Delhi - The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi has rolled out Deepak Raghavan Family Foundation Accelerator Initiative, designed to reinforce the institute's research framework and help talented young faculty members establish strong, independent research profiles.
Implemented through the IIT Delhi Endowment Management Foundation and supported by alumnus Dr. Deepak Raghavan the initiative provides sustained institutional backing to nurture high-impact , academic work and leadership. A Central component of the program is a 5 year Endowment Chair Position for faculty members aged 45 years and below. The selected Chair Professor will receive access to dedicated research funding, professional research staff and infrastructure support enable the development of a robust research agenda alongside teaching and leadership responsibilities.
The initiative also offers adaptable research grants to support purchases of equipment and software, conduct experiments and feel studies, develop prototypes and appoint postdoctoral fellows and research personnel. It further promotes partnership with industry and external organisations to facilitate applied research, technology development and knowledge transfer.
In addition, the program includes a fully sponsored PhD fellowship once every 5 years, allowing a doctoral candidate to work closely with the Chair Professor. Supporr for national and international conference participation is also provided to expand global research engagement.
Commenting on the launch Prof. Rangan Banerjee, Director, IIT Delhi said the initiative will enable faculty members to elevate their research impact and contribute to strengthening India's position in global research and innovations.
