New Delhi: Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT), one of Delhi’s leading technical universities, inaugurated a set of advanced electric vehicle (EV) education and research laboratories. The initiative is aimed at aligning engineering education with India’s rapidly expanding sustainable mobility sector, as the country pushes toward cleaner transportation and EV adoption at scale.
The launch comes at a crucial time for India’s EV ecosystem. The domestic electric vehicle market is projected to grow at approximately 40% CAGR over the next decade, driven by government initiatives such as FAME III, increasing renewable energy integration, and major advancements in battery technology. Despite this growth, industry reports highlight a persistent skills gap — a 2025 survey revealed that nearly 60% of EV companies struggle to find graduates with hands-on experience in EV system design and diagnostics, an issue NSUT’s new labs are designed to directly address.
