New Delhi: A delegation of NDTF led by President Prof A K Bhagi along with office bearers met Member of Parliament, Shri Pravesh Sahib Singh Verma to seek his intervention on the various teacher’s issues including grant cut of 12 Colleges fully funded by Delhi Government, Absorption of Ad-hoc teachers, EWS teaching posts allocation by UGC and closure of College of Arts (CoA).

Prof Bhagi briefed Shri Verma about the ongoing crisis of grant/fund cut in the 12 College of University of Delhi which are fully funded by Aam Aadmi Party led Delhi Government. This fund cut has resulted in non-payment of salaries, medical bills, arrears etc. to teaching and non-teaching employees. Prof Bhagi also informed that CM Kejriwal led Delhi Government has also releasing irregularly 5% grant to 16 Colleges of University of Delhi which has caused problems in managing the daily affairs of these colleges.

Prof Bhagi demanded that these 32 colleges should be adopted by UGC if Delhi Government fails to release full grant on time. This is the only solution left after the step motherly treatment done by Kejriwal Government.

He apprised Shri Verma, MP, that Kejriwal led Delhi Government has not just failed in full filling his promise of opening new colleges but also failed in maintaining the infrastructure and development of these 12 colleges. These colleges lack building, laboratory, infrastructure and basic amenities like Girls Common room, washroom etc.

He also raised issue of closure of College of Arts and requested him to intervene in this matter as it is a clear violation of statues of University of Delhi. Member of Parliament Shri Pravesh Verma has assured the delegation to work proactively to resolve these issues and requested NDTF leadership to apprise him such issues on regular basis.
